The Internet is immense. It has alarge impact on almost everyone in the world and it improves many people’s lives. However, I always have a question in mind regarding the Internet – why do the general public have such a limited idea of how the Internet “government” and policy-making work? The Internet is a virtual space shared between you and me; but most people seem to know very little about it. I believe that an increased participation of policy-making from the general public will be beneficial for the Internet’s development.
That’s the core value of Larus Foundation.
To achieve our target, we put forward a number of initiatives. The first one is our Fellowship Programme which aims to sponsor students and academics to participate in policy-making conferences and activities. By taking part in these activities, they will learn what Internet governance is and how policy-making works. Apart from this, we also host activities, such as talks and workshops by collaborating with local communities.
We believe that education is vital to promoting Internet governance to the general public. Educational programmes and workshops will be provided regularly for people who are interested in policy-making and other related areas.
You can find an online discussion forum on our Foundation website. We urge you to share your thoughts and ideas there, no matter they are about Internet governance or your opinions regarding the Foundation. We value your opinion.
We are dedicated to our mission and work. We need your support to help improve our Internet together. Let’s work together to make a better Internet world! Last but not least, we welcome all kinds of donation. You are always welcome to donate to us – your support can make the Internet an even better world. Thank you for always standing by us!
